Small Classes & Learning Support
Every kid, taken as they are
Kids come in all shapes and sizes. Some learn quickly, some take their time. Some love school, and some find it a little overwhelming. Middle Harbour excels at taking kids exactly as they are and helping them become everything they can be.

We do our utmost to keep class sizes small, because every kid deserves the chance to learn in the best possible environment.

In the classroom, MHPS uses the Walker Learning approach, an Australian-developed, evidence-based way of teaching that puts each child at the centre of their own learning. It blends hands-on investigation with explicit teaching, and uses kids' own interests to build curiosity, independence and a real love of learning. The P&C gets behind it by providing learning resources wherever they're needed.

The school also offers diverse learning programs, stretch programs for kids ready to race ahead, and individualised support for those who need a little more. When every kid is supported, teachers can give their best to every child, every day.
